A lone walker on a misty mountain pilgrim path at dawn

Worldwide journeys & pilgrimages

Walk the world slowly, and arrive changed.

Peregrina guides small groups along the oldest walking routes on earth — cultural journeys and pilgrimages made on foot, at the pace of breath and footstep.

Find your journey

Since the first mile

We believe a journey is not a place you reach, but a person you become.

For more than two decades, Peregrina has accompanied travellers across mountain passes, coastal paths and ancient roads. We do not rush. We carry less, notice more, and let the road do its quiet work. Every itinerary is shaped by local guides who have walked these ways a hundred times.

Why on foot

The pace that lets a country speak to you.

A bus passes a village in seconds; a walker is part of it for an afternoon. Travelling on foot returns the landscape to human scale — the smell of wild thyme, a shared meal in a stone courtyard, the slow turn of light across a valley. This is travel measured in conversations, not kilometres.

Who walks with you

Small groups, deep roots, unhurried days.

We keep our groups small — rarely more than twelve travellers — so no one disappears into a crowd. Your guide is a local who knows which baker opens at dawn and which chapel catches the first light. Luggage moves ahead of you; you carry only a day pack and your own curiosity.

The shape of a Peregrina journey

Four stages, one continuous thread.

Every Peregrina route, whether a week in the hills or a month-long pilgrimage, moves through the same quiet rhythm.

01

Arrival & settling

You gather, meet your guide and fellow travellers, and let the journey ahead come into focus over a shared first evening. No itinerary is read aloud like a schedule — it is unfolded like a map.

02

Finding your stride

The early days are gentle. Bodies adjust, conversations begin, and the route reveals its character — terraced fields, pilgrim chapels, market towns waking at dawn.

03

Into the deep country

Now the walking carries you somewhere quieter. Longer stretches, fewer roads, the kind of silence that asks nothing of you. This is the heart of the journey, where most travellers say something shifts.

04

Arrival & farewell

You reach the place the road was leading to — a cathedral square, a clifftop, a holy well — and rest there together before parting. You leave with more than photographs.

Where the paths lead

Routes across four continents.

From the Camino in northern Spain to temple trails in the Japanese mountains and the old pilgrim roads of the Andes, Peregrina walks the world's most storied paths. Each line below is a journey we lead every season.
